Cheryl Cole and Johnny Depp Top List of Celebs With Specs-appeal

A huge 90 percent of people find those who wear glasses to be attractive according to a recent pool by Henley’s Eyewear, with Johnny Depp and Cheryl Cole topping the polls of the most attractive celebrities who wear glasses.
The poll indicates that the traditional stereotype that spectacles are ‘geeky’ is diminishing due to the celebrity spec-wearing trend.
Glasses as a fashion accessory have grown in popularity in the last few years with a number of celebrities donning a pair of trendy prescription glasses. The results of the survey showed that Brad Pitt followed Depp in men with the most specs-appeal with Jude Law, Matt Damon and Prince William also featuring on the list. Cole pipped fellow Brit Kelly Brook to the number one spot.
Henley’s poll ndicated that your average person was considered more approachable and intelligent by donning some spectacles.
Psychologist Donna Dawson said: “This survey shows that the old clich© of glasses making people seem more intelligent is true. Look at Marilyn Monroe; she tried to counteract her ‘ditsy’ blonde image by wearing glasses in her acting classes.
She added: “Glasses have an attraction of their own: they lure you to a person because they frame the eyes, which are considered the twin windows of the soul and they are a sign of vulnerability and mystery.”
Stylist Matine Alexander commented: “Geek-chic is one of the most talked about trends this seasons and glasses are a key accessory to complete the look. Glasses are not just stylish for the short-sighted, with a number of people buying ‘fashion glasses’. Designer sunglasses have always been a cool item, but now regular frames are just as stylish.”
The poll only reinforce a recent poll which indicated that children who wear glasses were being bullied less in school.
