A cruise vacation offers diverse options for the young, old and everything in between. There are many factors that will decide on what your trip is like, such as how big the liner you’ll be traveling on is. Your expectations will also influence your experience, so a little research into other people’s cruise encounters may help you to choose the right cruise for your vacation.

If you are looking at a mega-liner one of the 12 to 15 story behemoths you can expect, first and foremost, a lot of people. These cruise liners accommodate 2 to 3 thousand guests, and although they have more than sufficient facilities to accommodate them, you are not likely to spend much time alone on this cruise. You can expect many things like casinos, activities, dining, pools, and games. Most have spa and beauty facilities, gymnasiums and other sporting activities, as well as games areas to keep the passengers busy. You can find non-stop activities on these bigger ships.

Small cruises are also available. These cruises are usually more elegant and have better atmosphere. These will usually have less casual dress codes, but should have spa facilities. These will have a nicer, more neighborly feel to them because of the smaller number of passengers. These cruises are less frenetic and more conducive to a romantic getaway or quiet vacation than the mega-liners provide.

No matter what kind of cruise you go on, there are a few things you should know. Be alert, as you should be anywhere. Don’t leave valuables in the cabin. Stay out of off limits areas and dark hallways. Watch the level of your alcohol intake. It is very tempting to start on the colorful cocktails in the early afternoon, but by dinner time, you are likely to be quite inebriated. You’ll get reckless, and might have dire consequences.

A cruise offers a wonderful vacation experience, out on the open sea, often visiting spectacular ports that you can experience for a day or two between stretches on the ocean. Like a huge resort on water, you won’t have to leave the ship to have a fantastic vacation. You’ll have great entertainment, great food varieties, and plenty of activity. If you book early, you can avoid the super expensive cruise costs, and get up to 50% off. Watch your spending on board. You will be given a C Note card that you will have to pay off before you get off. Take advantage of some of the shops and ports that you visit. Kick off your shoes and enjoy!
