As surfers we all know that planning and making sure we have everything is not something we do a lot. Although a surfing holiday is one situation where you will want to make sure you get everything ready before you go. It can be tedious to have to think about everything you will need in advance but it will make your travels all that more enjoyable.

This also applies for those weekend trips as well and not just complete surfing holidays. Whatever the destination you will soon realise that there are some things you just can’t do without. Obviously you need you board but I’m sure most people will remember this item. Footwear and additional urban clothing or any other brand you like will really help. For women Roxy is a good manufacture of women’s surf clothing while Billabong makes a lot of great clothing mainly for men.

Of course if you want to dedicate as much time to the waves as you can then bringing some camping equipment is going to be a good idea. The huge benefit is that you will be able to camp out at the beach and wake up to go surfing everyday. Obviously you will want to bring a tent and a sleeping bag. Most of the places near sea level don’t get too cold a night so you should get by with a relatively thin sleeping bag. A pad for sleeping on can also be used to make your night more comfortable. For beach travel a popular option is the hammock which is easy to hook up between two palm trees and keeps you off the ground.

Food such as bread, nuts and tuna are worth while bring along for the journey as these foods contain a lot of nutrition and will stop you from feeling drowsy or having low energy levels. A wetsuit and sun cream will be handy depending on the conditions.
